Resimac’s Beer Storage Tank Repairs Solution

- Blast clean all surfaces to remove any rust, corrosion, or debris.
- Protect internal surfaces using 501 CRSG, a surface tolerant epoxy designed for corrosion resistance and FDA-approved for use in the food and drink industry.
- Protect external surfaces with 506 Aluprime for priming, followed by 508 UVPU for UV protection.
Application Details
The external surfaces of the tanks were abrasive blast cleaned to SA 2.5 with a nominal 50-70 micron angular profile. For the internal surfaces, cracks and damaged sections were mechanically abraded and coated with two layers of 501 CRSG, each applied at a nominal thickness of 300 microns.
The external surfaces were first primed with two coats of 506 Aluprime at 200 microns. Two applications of 508 UVPU followed, bringing the total dry film thickness to 100 microns. Depending on the tank’s accessibility, the coating material was applied by brush, roller, or spray.
